Future of Maximum Stealth Tailless Fighters and Bombers

All of the next generation US fighters and bombers will go for maximum stealth with tailless designs.

The B-21 Raider is first as planes have already been built and will be flying later this year. The Air Force plans to have 24-30 of them operational by 2030. The B-21 Raider is a flying wing like the B-2 stealth bomber.

The tailless design allows for longer range.

The B-21, NGAD and FX-AA are engineered to elude lower frequency surveillance radar which can determine if something is there or in the area. High-frequency engagement or targeting radar is sed establish and maintain a target track on a stealth aircraft.

The tail is a large reflector that makes detection easier.

The new NGAD (Next Generation Air Dominance) fighter will have a selection in 2024 for the contractor for the plane and a selection of the engine maker.

  1. We already know what one of Lockheed’s future aircraft looks like. It had a starring role in the last Topgun movie. The true star as far as I’m concerned.
