Elon and Lex Talk AI, xAI, Teslabot and the World

At minute 72 of the interview : Elon italks about the shortage of energy for AI compute in about 1 year.

Elon wants the Teslabot to be able to pick up a needle and thread and then thread the needle by just looking and using its hands. He thinks this could be possible in about one year.

Elon wants to see the world at peace but sees that this is a difficult and complex problem.

Tesla AI (FSD, Teslabot) approach had to be more energy and conmpute efficient than large language models. The Tesla AI and large language approaches are both converging to artificial general intelligence.

AI is being made to work and then it will be made more efficient.

    • Over $9 billion for a 487 MW reactors (a six pack of Nuscale) and would produce about 4 TWh/year. The cost of a 50 MW solar power plant can start at about $25 million. One hundred of those would be 5GW which would produce about 5 TWH/year. This would be about $2.5B. Two hundred Tesla megapacks would store all this power for about 6-hours and would cost about $5B installed.

    • I assume you mean a SpaceX/Tesla like approach to fission. Dramatically reduced costs and mass production.
–Presumably if Elon had chosen this path, he would dominate the new power generation market worldwide today, and into the foreseeable future.–
