Optimus Teslabot and Starlink Mini Will Outclass MacBooks and Smartphones

Two near term future products will be a fantastic combination.

The Optimus Teslabot will have a 3 kilowatt hour battery pack which is thirty times more than a 100 watt-hour battery for a Macbook Pro.

It would be three hundred times more than smartphone batteries.

A new Starlink Mini will be released later in 2024 and it will provide 100 mbps downlink communication everywhere in the world. It will only use about 30 watts of power or half the power usage of a Standard Starlink.

The Starlink Mini will about the same size and weight as an Apple iPad.

The Optimus Teslabot will have the ability to walk everywhere humans can walk.

It can be a mobile data center 2U server level of power and computing. It will be in the range of 30X the raw capabilities of Macbook Pro.

This is all before discussing what AI capabilities will be available.

  1. Would there be a charging station nearby to swap out batteries when needed? One battery in the bot, 3 available at the charging station.

A bot that could change/swap its own batteries, thus being productive 23 hours/day, would be interesting…

  2. All this distributed Starlink connected compute will also likely be under Tesla management and control – the numbers make more sense for Tesla to lease Optimus bots for monthly contract payments that are expensed by the users the same way as wages and benefits of employees – rather than users buying them as capital equipment and having to depreciate and maintain them. Tesla would be connected to them anyway so would be able to anticipate and use excess compute without interfering with their work.

  3. I’m picturing my teen out on a hike with me, only instead of having his nose in a phone in place of taking in the scenery, he’s got a bot walking next to him holding a phone up to his nose.

I suppose the bot can at least carry the water bottle he keeps asking me to carry.

  4. Still waiting on your reporting of the Wednesday Tesla investor call. Now that Elon has announced a slowdown in sales, and that his previously projected 50% year over year growth will not happen, what’s Teslas next big future? Their price cuts gave them 38% more vehicle deliveries but only 3% more revenue! You report on them nearly religiously when the news is positive. Are you really interested in accurately reporting their role in the future or is this just an Elon Musk fanboy site? Why is there no news about ( according to Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities) the “train wreck” investor call or the markets reaction to the call? Do you not think it was a train wreck? You report on them a lot, whats your take on the call?

    • From a Fan POV nothing has changed except TSLA is available at a better price because of the train wreck reporting about financials. FSD 12 seems to be living up to expectations and will be coming out of beta this year. Optimus is on track for mass production within a couple years. 25k model late 2025, on track. What fans consider “fundamentals” are unchanged. Tesla has enough cash, no debt, and strong enough business to break through in expected tech areas. It has enough capital to accelerate it’s investments in AI cloud computing and HW5 – and remains on the forefront of AI which is the most important thing happening.

      • The fundamentals may change if Elon decides to move ahead with his threat to move the AI efforts to another company.

  5. That kind a computer will never work, companies try this many times but cloud computing is not what people wanted …
