UBTECH Humanoid Bots In China EV Factories

UBTECH’s humanoid robot Walker S was introduced into the assembly line of electric car maker NIO’s advanced vehicle manufacturing center, as an “intern” assisting in the car production. Walker S is the first bipedal humanoid robot to complete a specific workstation’s tasks on a mobile EV production line.

UBTECH humanoid robot will also be placed in BYD factories. UBTech will likely get trials and projects from most of the China EV car makers.

UBTECH has had about $942 million in funding.

UBTech trades on the Hong Kong stock exchange under 9880. They have a valuation of about HKD38 billion which is about US$5 billion.

  1. Bi peds look cool but if they walk like an 80 years human crawling pace they are missing a lot of production speed.

They need to be able to move between workstations faster, they need additional WHEELS ! retractable electric rollerskates of sorts. Alternatively you get those bunnyhoppers from boston dynamics but i’d stick to wheels augmentation.

    • Let’s make it more extreme and say that these are 10 times slower than humans. If the lifetime cost is 1/20th of a human worker, then they provide a huge competitive advantage.

  2. Cool, i hope nio can make buck out of it, that share tanking cost me a whole lot of money, still have the shares, good to see them acting. I dont like to say it but robotics will help out a lot, my sister eg gave her wedding at an apple farm, had to do wedding parties now since they have difficult times now, they were also talking robotics however! Cuerious how governments will tax them! They should defenitly!
