Tesla Cybertruck Will Start Outselling the Ford F-150 Lightning in April 2024

Joe Tegtmeyer performs drone flyovers of the Tesla Gigatexas factory and he reports that Tesla Cybertruck production is nearing 900-1000 per week. This is after launching deliveries five months ago in November, 2023. Tesla will likely outproduce and outsell both the Ford F150 Lightning and the combined Rivian SUV and Rivian Truck starting in April 2024. Rivian is about 1200 per week and the Ford F150 Lightning is at 600-700 per week.

Rivian is targeting 57000 electric SUVs and Trucks for 2024. Rivian launched in October, 2021 with a 2 year head start.

The Ford F150 Lightning has a target of 1600 trucks per week in 2024. The Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford’s first all-electric pickup truck, was launched on April 26, 2022. Ford has a 1.5 year head start.

In January 2024, Ford sold 2,258 F-150 Lightning vehicles, which was a 0.3% decrease from the same period in 2023.

In February 2024, Ford sold 2,578 Ford F-150 Lightnings.

It appears that the Ford F-150 Lightning is staying steady with about 2500-3000 sales per month. This is 600-750 sales each week.

  1. I agree! I was just at the Telsa dealer in my area and had a chat with one of the leads and even in my area (not super large) they area already rolling out delivers every week. Controversy creates buzz which creates brain bugs which leads to buying

  2. Pure speculation, is he counting in real time all cars driving from factory and then how many of them disappear from parking lot during 24h?, and to know daily average he needs to do exact the same thing few days in a row, because only that way he may come with such precise numbers.

We see maybe around 150 cars on the parking lot, but how can we/he know if they are all from today, not from last 2,3,4 days ouput?

It’s not a serious data for serious investors, Let’s wait for data from Tesla.
