Lockheed Martin and Boeing is in the final stage of selecting a buyer for ULA between three bidders Blue Origin, a private equity fund, and an unknown big aerospace company.
Buying United Launch Alliance would give Blue Origin an orbital rocket and the guaranteed government contracts. Amazon’s would be able to launch Project Kuiper satellites.
A buyer should be announced within a couple of months. The sale would still have to be approved by the Federal Trade Commission and US Department of Justice to ensure it does not substantially reduce competition in US industry.
The Aerospace company does not have a significant space business and wants to enter that segment.
ULA is preparing to launch the Vulcan rocket. The Vulcan rocket will be more cost-competitive with the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy vehicles while also ending ULA’s dependence on Russian-made rocket engines. The Vulcan launcher uses the BE-4 rocket engine manufactured by Blue Origin.
The Centaur V upper stage for the inaugural United Launch Alliance #VulcanRocket was integrated atop the booster on Sunday, completing initial buildup for the #Cert1 mission.

Textron?
Wonder which management would be more productive and innovative BO or ULA. Both seem to be innovative in ways to get bigger government tax payer paid contracts without results than that other rocket company
Well ULA would fit right in to BO’s corporate culture.

The only way Bezos is getting to orbit, is on something he didn’t build.
