Medal predictions for Winter Olympics in February 2018

The Winter Olympics will be in South Korea from Feb 9-25, 2018.

Germany, Norway, USA and Canada are predicted to top the medal counts with about 30-35 each.

Germany and Norway are expected to be the main competition for the most gold medals.

Gracenotes virtual medal projections is for Canada to drop from 10 golds in the last Olympics to 5 this time. The prediction is for Canada’s gold medals will come from men’s and women’s curling, freestyle skier Mikael Kingsbury, snowboarder Max Parrot and the men’s hockey team. The primary Olympic winter gold that counts for most canadians is men’s hockey.

They predict the reigning women’s bobsled champion Kaillie Humphries — who won Olympic gold in 2010 and 2014 — finishing second. “They had me tabbed for silver in Sochi too,” Humphries said with a smile.
