Overseas movie box office is needed to provide profitably to almost all movies in 2018.
Other than Black Panther, Fifty Shades Free and a Wrinkle in Time there are no other movies that would be profitable with only their domestic box office. Most movies have a budget of $50 million or more.
In North America it is only the big superhero movies and Star Wars movies and some cheap horror movies that are really profitable.
NetFlix and Youtube are taking away the rest of the entertainment dollars and attention. Netflix and Youtube and have hit upon a sweet spot of good enough entertainment.
