The Key highlight – Chinese Universities are patenting everyones research from AI journals. Not just their own research but everyone else’s research where the researchers did not file for patent protection. The main countries in the world have first to file patent systems and not first to invent.

Software is not patentable right now in the USA but it could be in a few years.

There are business processes that need to be rigorous and precise and part of overall legal and business strategies. These processes must be able to react to dynamic and changing conditions.

Have a plan that is economically efficient. There are high costs to filing and acquiring patents.

Large companies tend to cross license but they need to have a sufficient portfolio of patents.
