SpaceX is targeting the launch of the first production batch of Starlink Internet satellites by the middle of 2019. Elon Musk fired at least seven members of the Starlink senior management team who had a later schedule.
SpaceX’s Starlink program will compete with OneWeb and Canada’s Telesat to market with new satellite-based global Internet services.
“It would be like rebuilding the Internet in space,” Musk told an audience in 2015 when he unveiled Starlink. “The goal would be to have a majority of long-distance Internet traffic go over this network.”
Currently, about 300 SpaceX employees work on Starlink in Redmond.

Rumor has it he has been swinging the axe across his management staff to get things back on route and time. That can work, or backfire, but apparently he’s not taking ‘no’ for an answer when talking about this mid 2019 deadline.
If they refuse to accept the goal, I suppose that is justified. If, on the other hand, they are just rationally projecting with the rate they have been able to make progress and the resources available, sacking those realists does not make sense.
I plan on signing up for it as soon as it’s available.
Can Musk PLEASE just stay as far away from SpaceX and Boring Company as possible? Please! Before he damages them with his ego problems, that is.
that would be a good way to fund a moon base and later a mars base.
He ADMITTED to it under oath to the SEC and publicly. Where have you been?
I didn’t claim he would get a perp walk and prison.”the Air Force was investigating him”Nope. I didn’t claim that either.
Sorry but learn ‘context’ …as in the context of what I was responding to.

And Tesla recorded a quarterly profit by producing 5000 cars a week and stock recovered close to all time high.
Part of that has to do with the FCC license stipulations. They don’t have a lot of time to get the minimum constellation up to keep their frequency allocations, and they also have a full constellation in-service date limit as well. OneWeb is also under similar time restraints, but at least their partners seem to have their sat factory almost done.
do you have evidence of this? because thats a seriously libelous statement if not
well im ready for internet 3.0 something not censored by anyone or any country so this network could be the ticker
im sorry but what does Space x have to do with SEC? this isnt tesla and musk demands the best from people.. if hes wrong or right here in this case time will tell

From another website; apparently Musk’s philosophy is to get “something” up there and iterate until satisfied, which is 180 degrees out from the Microsoft-poached team he had in Washington state. Ala, the Falcon 9 with 5 major blocks and innumerable minor iterations along the way, Musk wants to get the system up and running and then improve the satellites/system as he goes along. Since the satellites have a (relatively) short lifetime of a few years, iteration does seem to be the simplest approach to getting the StarLink system up and running.

Most likely he sees that it can be done a better, more efficient way. I bet that way wasn’t done, or was too slow to be enacted, so chop chop chop!
Dear Elon, I would like frequent updates of the BFR construction. Thanks
The part where he admitted no fraud, the SEC proved no fraud, he kept control of the company, and can return to being board chairman in a few years. He got a slap on the wrist, that is reality. And that chaps your a$s.
No mor0n, you are a troll and pathologist skeptic. You claimed Musk would get a perp walk and prison, that the Air Force was investigating him, and half a dozen other things which are not true. You will continue to be disappointed in your prognostications.
Fanboy much? I’m interested, but only if it delivers faster internet for a cheaper price.

What part of ‘God of Market Manipulation Fraud!’ is a lie? He committed securities fraud via market manipulation of shares from his Tweet. Pure and simple. Reality is reality.
See folks! Perfect example of a an irrational Musk Fluffer.
Oh wait! You have no point at all, and no hope of stopping Musk in any of his endeavors. All you can do is troll, and lie stupidly to do it.
No mor0n, you are the assh0le.

Why, Brenty? Oh wait! You’re a Kool-Aide Drinking Musk Fluffer! Which means you just flip out whenever anyone posits anything critical of your Cult Leader Elon Musk — God of Market Manipulation Fraud!
Not talking about that. Talking about what he does that isn’t good/detrimental. Esp when he’s on drugs while Tweeting.
Musk is just taking out his anger at the SEC/short sellers on people who are in no position to fight back. What an âsshôle.
That’s why I think it can either work (if Musk is pruning rebel/incompetent elements) or backfire (if they are being realistic and Elon Musk not). He’s got a reputation of being a demanding boss, prone to anger if not satisfied by any employee. But the employees are also known to be a highly motivated bunch, mostly young engineers eager to please and earn a reputation doing what nobody else is doing. Some high profile employees have left of late, but the eagerness to work in SpaceX seems to be at an all time high.Maybe that’s a bad combination, making Elon become reckless and start burning up high profile employees faster that he can recover them.
To be fair, he accomplishes quite a lot others think impossible. He’s not perfect, but I wouldn’t bet against him.
