Japan’s emissions went up after nuclear reactors were shutdown after Fukushima Tsunami.

Germany’s emissions also went up for 3 out of four years after nuclear energy shutdowns.

Following the March 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, Germany permanently shut down eight of its 17 reactors

  1. You don’t want to be force to do anything that is inconvenient or more expensive, yet you have no problem forcing everyone else into accepting the harm you’re doing to them. You’re not even willing to reduce that harm, in fact you will go out of your way to increase it unless your cheaper/favored solution -based on your synthetic estimation- is employed.

    Not everyone prioritize money to the exclusion of all other concerns. Different people have different concerns and priorities, you will be subject to these differences when you live in a collective.

    If you think co2 cant retain heat, or heat cant cant melt ice etc, that might entitled you to be considered ignorant, but just being obsessed with money is just a cultural failing.

    My position is that we should not force people in to conservation and that expensive energy isn’t workable. My position would be that if we want clean power then we should make cheap clean power. I’m against a forcible transition to solar + wind + batteries because it will cost far more than other carbon neutral options.

    Germany plans on spending 1.5 trillion Euros to reduce their CO2 by 80%. I could accomplish the same with 0.3 trillion Euros.

  6. The nuclear shutdown was due to fears over nuclear safety. The Japanese are re-opening nuclear power plant after safety reviews. The Germans have decided that nuclear power is unsafe and they will pursue other source of power. But the greater emission of CO2 is temporary.

  8. Of course it did. Had anyone expected that it wouldn’t? Germany, and perhaps Japan decision to close so many clean power generation sources is highly questionable. Should it be an argument to spread nuclear energy further even though there are better renewable alternatives? Did you take propaganda classes in a Chines college?
