Masked men claiming to belong to the Wagner Group have warned the Kremlin to “get ready for us” after the reported death of their leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

“There’s a lot of talk right now about what the Wagner Group will do. We can tell you one thing, we are getting started, get ready for us,” the masked men warned.

Earlier reports said Russia security forces in two regions were put on alert after Wagner mercenaries vowed to avenge Prigozhin’s death.

In the movie the Godfather, the mob war of attack and counter-attack was called going to the mattresses. Putin and Wagner group are both very similar to mafia gangs and thugs. Putin has assassinated many of his enemies. The Wagner Group is filled with mercentaries, killers and murderous criminals.

  1. The ultimate !revenge would be for Wagner to attack the rear lines near Maripol giving the Ukanians a big breakthrough…and destroying the Kerch bridge!!

  3. Wagner is still dangerous. They still have the capability of starting a major conflagration. Who’s to say their attacks would solely be centered on Putin’s Russia? They can turn the powderkeg into a full world war.

    Better Dead than Red.
    This is a garbage part of the World with very little modern society potential – which is not a crime. I have much family in eastern Europe and all they care about is family, community, and history — fine on its face, but you can’t build a technological society on this kind of low-trust, medieval value system. Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, etc., have balanced their history with many modern EU values and regulations and thereby have accepted a second-tier ‘modern’ cultural exisitence. Ukraine wants better than that – and they deserve it. Russia is worse than all of these since they want their history and they also want their value system projected over other parts of the world, despite these other parts having their own history and values. At least when Western values spread, its based on other groups being entranced by the low-quality entertainment, business successes, consumer technology, individualism, work-identity, and other such shallow & selfish experiences. With Russia its domination, bullying, cronyism, violence, and a certain predator-prey dynamic. With Western soft-bullying, its just a used-car salesman type of sliminess. Crappy, but not Russian-type near-evil. The world will be a better place when Ukraine-west pushes 90% of the russian military out of all of the pre-2010 Ukraine and Russian-influence out of 75% of it. A hard NATO border at Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Poland will pen in Russia’s ambitions and allow Russia to get their own house in order, if possible, before spilling their dysfunction on everyone else. That doesn’t help the middle east and other parts of central asia of course, but that’s an even more ‘unique’ area of the world. Good luck Kyiv, you deserve to be free.

  6. Putin has finally bitten off more than he can chew. It’s so ironic that the best Russian soldiers are mercenaries. It won’t be long before the Russian generals start picking sides and then all bets are off.

  7. Yep. It is a crying shame to sacrifice all these Christian European men. Ukraine is a gutted pile of rubble because of some neocon chess game. Russo/Ukr conflict is a civil war.

    • This is not a civil war, Ukraine is a sovereign nation. If the US and UK fought it wouldn’t be a civil war even though we both have the same official language and were once both part of the same empire. If the US and Mexico fought and some Mexican Americans joined Mexico’s side it wouldn’t be a civil war even though many Americans speak Spanish and much of the US was once part of Mexico. When soveriegh nations are attacked and invaded it is not a civil war and this invasion is a violation of international law and signed treaties between Russia and Ukrain.

    • Russia and Ukraine are two separate countries. It is not a civil war. Russia invaded an independent sovereign nation. Do you even know the definition of civil war?

  8. What is a signed agreement from Russia worth? The Budapest Memorandum of Security Assurances clearly give us that answer.
