Dr. Scott Walker points out that the Logo usually goes on a product when prototyping is complete.
There would be a huge impact for Tesla if one hundred thousands Teslabots can be made and used the Tesla factories.

Texture of white plastic finger covers appears to be 3d printed.
Implies that there is a stronger internal structure that carries the loads in the fingers.
Likely still ongoing progress & iterations in hand design. pic.twitter.com/L8vPYh1Oak

White cover panels have been added to improve external appearance and once again protect internal mechanisms & pinch points.
Material appears to be plastic based on the geometry & finish texture.
Difficult to say if these cover pieces are 3d printed or injection molded. pic.twitter.com/eCmy1UoeXJ

The plus things are that Tesla bot is slim, design is nice, some delicate items can be handled. Speed of hands is not so bad. Compared to Boston Dynamics they had less time to come far. Of course there are things that need improving, speed, walks so slow,… Boston dynamics one can do backflip. These promotional videos are probably very scripted, many failures and they picked the best one, I don’t know.
Tesla has the edge here, it seems they will solve hardware problems so it is a software problem and they have experience with vision based approach. I still think the timelines are too optimistic. I say 2026 for mass production, perhaps 2025 limited one. When production will be imminent, there will be signs, leaks of preparation for production line. Should be easier to build and ramp up than cars, so again software issue. If hardware is able of reliable and fast enough movements then it is again easy to upgrade, just upgrade the software on the build models.
Usually, but you’re dealing with a man who understands marketing as well as innovation. So I don’t place a lot of weight on the logo being added.
I for one greatly appreciate that Elon’s companies spend their time and energy on engineering and not marketing.
Same here, but RodT said Elon *understands* marketing. Which he certainly does. He understands it so well that he can basically do it for free, which is one reason they can focus on engineering.
Of course having great products makes the marketing easier, so there’s a virtuous cycle there.
