A lot of significant developments are queuing up through the end of this year and through 2015. There will be even more after that but things are shaping up so that naysayers against significant technological change will have problems.

Leap Motion should be shipping its radically more precise motion sensing system by February, 2013
Artificial Intelligence will be making waves with IBM Watson and Watson 2.0 on cloud system and accessed by smartphones and tablets. New business applications and markets should see the benefit of Watson in 2013 and access by smartphones and tablets in 2014 and 2015.
There will also be improved voice recognition with next generation Siri and Google Voice.
Memristors should hit consumer markets in a big way in 2014.
China Broad Group should have built the world’s tallest building by February 2013 for seven times lower cost than regular western skyscraper construction. By the end of 2015, there should be many hundreds of skyscraper built with Broad Groups methods from its factories and the factories of its partners.
China should have finished a high speed rail network with 40,000 kilometers of high speed tracks by 2015
There will be a lot more assisted driving systems deployed and possibly initial Google robotic driving systems will see some early deployment.
