Israeli Drones Have Hit Iran

Israeli drones have hit western Iran. Explosions were heard in the city of Isfahan prompting commercial flights to divert from their routes.

Explosions were heard near the Iranian city of Isfahan early Friday as Israel reportedly launched a heavily anticipated reprisal strike for an Iranian attack on Israel days earlier, defying international pressure to stand down.

There was no official confirmation of a strike from Israeli authorities; state-run media in Iran reported only that air defenses were activated, downplaying claims of an attack on a military site in the city some 315 kilometers (196 miles) south of Tehran and describing the incident as business-as-usual.

The apparently limited nature of the strike, reportedly carried out with drones rather than missiles or airstrikes, and the lack of official acknowledgement will likely give the regime in Iran the strategic deniability needed to wriggle out of its bellicose threats to attack Israel a second time, providing an early indication that both Israel and Iran may be seeking to step back from the brink of war.

The strike was limited to get the green light from the Biden administration to attack Rafah.

Isfahan’s international airport is located just northeast of Qahjaverestan.

Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency reported that flights over Tehran, Shiraz and Isfahan had been suspended.

  1. An Israeli strike was needed lest Iran determine that every Israeli “infraction” can be appropriately responded with hundreds of missiles launched at civilian population centers, with little to no consequences. If that day ever happens, Iran has already won the war. The only question is if the Israelis were able to thread the needle finely enough to restore deterrence without sparking a wider war.

    • Yeah, it’s a matter of survival for Israel, that no misdeed against them goes unpunished.

Even to extremes looking petty, like ensuring no conspirators and planners besides of the perpetrators live to tell of their victory.

Those expecting this wasn’t going to happen were delusional.

“Explosions were heard near the Iranian city of Isfahan early Friday as Israel reportedly launched a heavily anticipated reprisal strike for an Iranian REPRISAL (in response to Israel attacking an Iranian Consulate in Syria) attack on Israel days earlier”

Now we have to wait for the Iranian reprisal attack for the Israeli reprisal attack for the Iranian reprisal attack for the Israeli attack.

    • Another pro-Hamasnik on the internet who thinks that launching hundreds of missiles at civilians is an appropriate reprisal for assassinating a general. Let me guess, the rampage of beheadings and rape on October 7th was also “legitimate resistance” to the Israeli “occupation of Gaza”?
