China has tested three vehicles expected to be capable of hypersonic flight in a single airdrop. Scaled models of D18-1S, D18-2S and D18-3S wide-range aircraft were released to fall in a successful experiment.
The three scale models in this test were developed by Institute of Mechanics, CAS. named D18-3S, D18-1S & D18-2S from left to right in 1st photo. D18-3S/1S with a dimension of 2 meters ×1.5 meters are set as comparisons in a conventional configuration.
They were unpowered. The test may have been to get some aerodynamic analysis.
